Calling All Girl Scout Leaders!

Cookie sale activities are tons of fun—but there is also a lot of hard work that goes into a successful sale. If you try to take on everything yourself, you may be headed for burn out. Cookie time provides a wonderful opportunity to involve others in your troop’s adventures!

As a Girl Scout leader, your primary responsibilities are to:

  1. Recruit a cookie manager.
  2. Communicate with parents/guardians and encourage their involvement. Ask for their help too!
  3. Guide your girls in budgeting, planning and goal setting.
  4. Conduct cookie training, emphasizing the importance of safety.
  5. Help girls make forever memories during cookie time by keeping in touch throughout the sale.

Cookie managers can:

  1. Assist with cookie training.
  2. Tabulate cookie orders and submit all paperwork on time.
  3. Manage cookie delivery and distribution.
  4. Coordinate cookie shops and recruit additional family support.
  5. Collect cookie money.

Parents and guardians can:

  1. Attend cookie training with their daughter.
  2. Ask their daughter about her goals.
  3. Encourage sales beyond immediate friends and family.
  4. Check on their daughter’s progress throughout the sale.
  5. Volunteer their time to help with cookie shops.

Don’t go it alone. By being resourceful and seeking the help you need, you will give your girls a real life lesson in leadership!
