Calling All Girl Scout Leaders!
Cookie sale activities are tons of fun—but there is also a lot of hard work that goes into a successful sale. If you try to take on everything yourself, you may be headed for burn out. Cookie time provides a wonderful opportunity to involve others in your troop’s adventures!
As a Girl Scout leader, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Recruit a cookie manager.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and encourage their involvement. Ask for their help too!
- Guide your girls in budgeting, planning and goal setting.
- Conduct cookie training, emphasizing the importance of safety.
- Help girls make forever memories during cookie time by keeping in touch throughout the sale.
Cookie managers can:
- Assist with cookie training.
- Tabulate cookie orders and submit all paperwork on time.
- Manage cookie delivery and distribution.
- Coordinate cookie shops and recruit additional family support.
- Collect cookie money.
Parents and guardians can:
- Attend cookie training with their daughter.
- Ask their daughter about her goals.
- Encourage sales beyond immediate friends and family.
- Check on their daughter’s progress throughout the sale.
- Volunteer their time to help with cookie shops.
